You hold your finger on the screen as your paddle to defend or score with and your opponent would do the same. There are many settings available to customize the games. It can be played with just one person, two people on the same device or two people on different devices. You can choose from four point levels to play to and even change the size of the goal for each player.
Touch Hockey iPhone Game app has a neat instant replay option after goals as well, if you take your finger off the playing screen it will automatically show you an instant replay of what just happened. The game board looks just like that of an air hockey table with the holes for the air to come through and the puck that often travels so fast that you have trouble knowing where exactly it is. A mini scoreboard on one side of the playing area counts off the scoring and has a hockey-sounding buzzer to go along with each goal. Even if you don’t finish a game all at one point it can be saved to be resumed at a later time.
The load screen in Touch Hockey game does take some time to actually get into the game and there are quite a few advertisements that you can accidentally click on, but overall it’s a fun, quick iPhone game that can be brought out in short order to pass the time. The option to play with another on a separate device seems really useful if you both pick up this free iPod Touch application. Two people on one device can be a tad cumbersome with figuring out how to hold the small Iphone or Ipod down while both of you are flicking your finger around on the screen.
