Tic Tac Toe Games Application For The iPod Touch

Although it has been a few years since it’s release, the iPod has taken the world by storm. It’s rare that you see anyone anymore without on in their hand, which is why it isn’t surprising that with the release of other mobile platforms, it’s still number 1. But it’s more then just the official features of this multi-purpose phone that has captivated it’s users.

The iPod Touch has created a whole new world of user-made applications, some that have seriously improved on the applications released by Apple, and they are available all over the web. From practical programs like the various photo and video uploaders, to a multitude of games, there are plenty to choose from in today’s hi-tech world.

But sometimes simple is better, and that’s why I am here to tell you about one of the most basic of all customer-made applications of the web: the Tic Tac Toe iPod Touch Games (iTicTacToe).

I know it sounds kind of silly, putting so much effort in writing a review of a game that is easily played with a piece of paper. But the Tic Tac Toe ipod touch games is one of those great little time wasters, a game that doesn’t take that much brain power, and can really take the edge off of bus commutes, long lines, or even as a way of screwing around at work when you just don’t feel like dealing with the tedium of those annual profit reports.

The design of the Tic Tac Toe iPod Games is nice and simple, and won’t stall on your phone. It’s more or less just an orange and black collection of boxes where you and a friend, or you and the computer, can engage in an epic battle of wits and wills, the way that cave men used to do it…well, minus the iPhone part. What I am trying to say is that the iTicTacToe might not seem as exciting as the other available apps out there, but you know that you want it, and you want it bad.

The iTicTacToe was created by a guy by the name of ‘lednerk’, and if you are now salivating after this convincing review, you can get it at iBrickr, iBreezy, Installer, or at his website, http://code.google.com/p/itictactoe .

If you are downloading from lednerk’s personal page, then click on the ‘Downloads’ tab. This will give you an option of downloading it’s initial version, the iTicTacToe version one, also named TicTacToe.tar.gz. Clicking on this will open up a .zip file, so you need some kind of program, like WinZip, to open it.

There is also a demo video named ‘ttt.mov’, which gives detailed instructions on how to upload iTicTacToe onto your phone from there.

If you still aren’t convinced, just think of all the times you have been stuck in a position of mindless boredom, unable to focus enough attention to play more complicated games of strategy? Or, how often have you been sitting somewhere where you are forced to remain silent, say a lecture, a church service, a wedding, and end up playing the more traditional Tic-Tac-Toe with your buddy on the corner of a paper program?

That’s what I thought.
