Ravensword: The Fallen King is an expansive iPhone Role Playing Game (RPG for short from here on out), that is one of the most impressive games I have seen on the iPhone in a long time.

The Ravensword iPhone game is featured in a massive 3D world that combines action and RPG aspects into one impressive game. Take on quests that will earn you experience and create more opportunities for you to kill all of the Demons, Orcs, Trolls, and Orgres you handle. Quests also allow you to build up cash to create your own personal stash of weapons and items to tackle any foe you encounter.

A multitude of secret areas and tons of treasure and monsters gives this game a great reply value.

This Ravensword Fallen King iPhone game is one of the first games that I have seen on the iPhone that allows you to switch between first and third person views just with the hit of a button (probably the first game I have seen with this feature period).

The inventory system is very clean, one of the best I have seen on any platform.

The great autosave feature allows you to start your game up right were you left it off, a frustrating feature left out all to often on games like this for the iPhone.

The controls on the Ravensword iPhone game are laid out very beautifully on the screen, the D pad/joystick is located in the left hand corner like most iPhone games and the main buttons on the lower right. Along the left side are your weapons and items that are currently equipped and in the upper left hand corner is your bag with all the rest of your goodies in it. There is a zoom button in the upper left and your health status is along the bottom in red.

At a price point of $4.99 Ravensword: The Fallen King looks like a great deal to anyone who is interested in this genre. Ravensword is rated 4 stars out of 5 and is definitely a great game for an immersive iPhone gaming experience. Check it out in the app store today from the button below:

Everybodies favorite holiday crank the Grinch is making his way to the iPhone in the Christmas themed game called creatively Grinchmas.

The Application is now $0.99 for the release of the new e-book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” on the iPhone.

The Grinchmas iPhone application allows you to choose between being a Mean Grinch or Merry Grinch. The mean Grinch throws snowballs at the townspeople from up on top of a hill and the merry Grinch throws Christmas gifts to to all of the towns people. Note the difference between throwing snowballs AT the townspeople and throwing gifts TO the townspeople.

The game is a very simple game, with only the two game modes. However it does feature a great artistic styling that is the perfect homage to Dr. Suess’s original art style. The graphics are 3D and allow for a very crisp and smooth experience.

The game has already gathered a few titles to showcase on it’s virtual shelf, including being a top ten paid app for December 2009, the #1 children’s app for December 2009 and the #2 family app for December 2009.

The publisher has done a really great job for such a simple game and releasing the e-book of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” along with the Grinchmas iPhone game is a great marketing tactic and is sure to bring many long time loyal fans of the Grinch back for some green Christmas fun.

The original Super Monkey Ball game on the iPhone was one of the iPhone’s App Store early successes and SEGA is hoping Super Monkey Ball 2 is just as big of a success.

The new version looks much like the first version, but the first thing that is different is the user interface. The UI has a new feature in the lower left corner that shows the orientation of the game, it is used as a gauge to help you keep your money ball going in the direction you want. Keep it centered, he rolls straight, tilt it to the left, he turns to the right. This feature will help users from getting frustrated with the character going in a direction you weren’t expecting and should really improve the gameplay experience from the first version.

Some of the new features that are included in Super Monkey Ball 2 are 115 new tracks and levels for users to try and conquer with their (same) favorite characters. Also up to four players can now play via WIFI against one another on any of the 115 maps.

As of December 9, the Super Monkey Ball 2 iPhone game doesn’t have the same reception the original did in the app store (being one of the top sellers consistently for the first year of the app store). It’s current rating is 3.5 stars out of 5 on iTunes.

The current price is $9.99 US, which is what the first Super Monkey Ball started at when it was first released as well. However Super Monkey Ball is now only $3.99. Personally I would wait to check the game out until it goes on sale, and some updates fix some of the bugs.
